A 2019 Abstract from National Institute of Health performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine efficacy of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on fibromyalgia patients. Results identified from review of nine randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with 325 patients provided relevant evidence showing the effects of LLLT for fibromyalgia is an effective, safe and well-tolerated treatment for fibromyalgia. Integrative providers often see fibromyalgia patients either as first line of care or after all other treatments have failed. Use of LLLT should be considered as a treatment procedure for this population.
