21st Century Cares Act

A component of the 21st Century Cures Act went into effect on April 5, 2021. One of its aims is to prevent “information blocking” by streamlining patient access to electronic health information (EHI). This applies to a wide range of health care providers and clinics. Integrative healthcare providers should check with their electronic health record (EHR) vendor and continue to follow their professional associations and other appropriate sources of authoritative information on the topic.
