The CHP Group Names Dr. Rita Bettenburg as Associate Medical Director (2011-09-13) |

The CHP Group (CHP) has named Rita M. Bettenburg, ND, as their Assistant Medical Director. Dr. Bettenburg, a nationally and internationally respected expert on Naturopathic Medicine, comes to CHP with extensive experience in both the clinical practice and teaching of Naturopathic Medicine.
The announcement was made by CHP’s CEO, Michell Hay. Ms. Hay noted, “Dr. Bettenburg has a long and deep commitment to complementary and alternative medicine and a rich history with CHP. We are thrilled to have her experience and expertise in the Company.” In her role as Assistant Medical Director, Dr. Bettenburg will assist with quality improvement and clinical management functions for CHP’s network of over 2,000 providers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Alaska.
Dr. Bettenburg's far-reaching experience includes work as a surveyor for the Joint Commission (formerly JACHO). In addition, she has just retired from a 25-year career in Naturopathic Medicine education, most recently as Dean of Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR. Dr. Bettenburg continues to serve as the President of the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education which is the accrediting agency for naturopathic medical education for four-year naturopathic colleges and programs throughout the United States and Canada.
Dr. Bettenburg helped develop the Naturopathic Medicine program at CHP through which thousands of patients have access to Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Bettenburg stated, “I am excited by the challenges of medical management. Helping CHP providers deliver the quality and value that Naturopathic doctors and the other CAM clinicians in CHP bring to the health of the community is very rewarding.”
