About The Speakers

Dr. Vern Saboe - A practicing chiropractic physician since 1981, Dr. Vern Saboe is a 1979 graduate of Western State Chiropractic College, as well as completing further courses in orthopedics, neurology, internal disorders, and forensic science. He is the only chiropractic physician in Oregon board-certified in all three subspecialities of orthopedics, neurology, and forensic science.

Dr. Saboe has been selected twice as "Chiropractor of the Year" by his peers and is a past president of the Oregon Chiropractic Asociation (OCA). He has been a member of the he American Chiropractic Association (ACA) since 1994 and has served on various committees as well as being Oregon's delegate to the ACA. He is currently the cheif paid lobbyist for the OCA and advocates for chiropractic patient issues in Salem and Washington, DC. 

Dr. John Hanks - Dr. Hanks grew up in Illinois and graduated in 1970 from Bradley University with a major in psychology. With the influence of his father and older brother, both chiropractors, he entered the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, graduating in 1974. Dr. Hanks has been in private practice since that time, first in New Mexico for one year, and then in Denver since 1975. He is board certified in chiropractic orthopedics, and in 1997, finished a master’s degree in healthcare systems from the University of Denver. He has served on the postgraduate faculty of four chiropractic colleges. Presently, he is the senior chiropractic consultant to Kaiser Permanente. Dr. Hanks is certified in acupuncture as an adjunct to chiropractic practice. He has a strong interest in clinical nutrition and all forms of orthopedic disorders, especially spinal.
